Creating open and honest discussions around “taboo” topics in the workplace can strengthen internal relationships and create empathy. These conversations can include race, religion, toxic workplace issues, politics, LGBTQ and gender equality.
This Forbes article outlines PESA Member Company PwC’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through having tough conversations and creating empathy. Shannon Schuyler, PwC’s Chief Purpose and Inclusion Officer, is quoted in the article talking about their diversity journey. The article also highlights CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion, a coalition that PwC helped spearhead which focuses on having these conversations across companies and therefore driving I&D forward as a larger societal initiative.
PESA’s Engagement Committee shares Inclusion and Diversity Tips and Tools each month to help advance the oilfield services and equipment sector organizations in I&D. For more information about this committee or PESA’s other diversity programs, contact Director Membership Services Carolynn Henriquez.
