STEM Education Focus: Extern/Intern Programs
IPAA/PESA EXTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Since 2010, the next generation of America’s oil and natural gas leaders has taken their first eager steps toward securing successful careers within the energy industry. Each summer, junior level high school students in the five Petroleum Academies at Milby, Southwest, Westside, the Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy and the Energy Institute High School are eligible to participate in the IPAA/PESA Externship Program.
The IPAA/PESA Student Externship Program provides professional development and a job shadowing opportunity for future engineering and geosciences students at various Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth petroleum exploration, production and service company locations.
PESA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
PESA partners with Rice University’s Center for Civic Leadership to offer Member Companies an opportunity to participate in the PESA Fellowship Program, an internship program for undergraduate students. Students who are studying disciplines not traditionally associated with the oil and gas industry, such as marketing or policy, are matched with Member Companies who use the program to give students a perspective into the industry.
PESA is recruiting Member Companies to participate in the 2019 program. If your company is interested, please contact Beth Bradford, Director Membership Services.
